On a recent Sunday morning I received a great honor from our local Threadbearers, a group of dedicated individuals headed by Mary Newport, who make quilts for Veterans. Mary called me up to the front of the church, thanked me for my service and we had a short chat. The Threadbearers also did this over Memorial Day for many more Veterans.
I received with the blanket this letter with the signatures of everyone who worked on it. Plus, they included washing instructions just in case I was the one to wash it.
They also include with every blanket a picture of the blanket and the individuals who made it, which I thought was a really nice touch.
To my surprise, they also include with every blanket a Gospel of John. My copy I will be leaving somewhere on our trips out and about. Hopefully someone will pick it up and give it a read.
