There comes a time in every man’s life when he must wrestle with the state and station to which he has been called by God. It is not something we should take lightly. It is often quite difficult, and it is rarely very fun. But it is our worthy task to soberly consider who we are in Christ and how we are to realize that in our lives, in our families, and in our world.
As believing men, we are called to join with one another along this journey. We are called to sharpen one another, help one another, mentor one another, and build one another up for the works of service we have all been prepared for. It is my hope and prayer that each one of you who are in fellowship at Harbor Baptist Church will join me this fall at the Men’s Retreat hosted by Hauser Community Church. It will be held September 6th-8th at Camp Fircroft. There are cabins available, showers, and a main facilities hall with more details forthcoming. This year the subject being addressed is how we men can be the priest in our homes, which applies to both the married and the single states we men find ourselves in at various stages in our lives.
“You are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.” (1 Peter 2:9)
