Missions

As a church we are passionate about missions and reaching out to the lost and those who are hurting both locally and globally. We are a small church, but we believe God can use us however he sees fit. We stand ready, able, and willing to serve him and others. Here are some of the ways in which Harbor Baptist Church is attempting to accomplish these aims:

Local:

Camp Fircroft

Every year our young people pack up and head off to Langlois to spend a week with their peers, with friends they often haven’t seen all year, to play games, enjoy great food, shoot bows and arrows, sling shots, aim for each other in paint ball and enjoy the pool in the heat of the afternoon sun.

More importantly, they get time and space undistracted by the world around them, where they can focus on their understanding of who Jesus Christ was, is, and how they want to serve him going forward. Many people in our church and other surrounding churches sacrifice their time and energies to make the camp the most memorable experience of our young peoples’ year. You can find more information about this year’s camp by going to this website: http://www.campfircroft.com/

Here are some video teachings from last year’s camp:

Pacific Pregnancy Clinic

We support the work of the Pacific Pregnancy Clinic in Coos Bay, Oregon, an organization who has served over 40,000 clients since its opening in 1986. They are a “pro-woman, pro-man, pro-child agency that does not profit from the reproductive choices a person makes.” Please consider supporting this important work (https://www.pacificpc.org/).

South Coast Gospel Mission (Homeless Shelter)

Harbor Baptist Church is proud to support the ministry of South Coast Gospel Mission so that they can share the love of Christ and his Gospel with those who feel un-loved, who need healing, who are suffering, and who need to be rescued from addictions. We join with them in prayer for the homeless to choose restoration, so that they might experience relief of pain, experience peace, and feel joy and deep love. International:

Jim and Marian Davis

The Davises have served with NCEM since 1995. Jim does IT work for the Mission, primarily working with computer systems at headquarters, Tribal Trails, and the printshop. Marian works as the Personnel Assistant and also helps in the finance department. Their family has served at Pine Ridge Bible Camp many summers.

Eric & Zola Ryan (Bolivia)

Harbor Baptist Church also supports Eric and Zola Ryan as they prepare to enter the mission field to Bolivia. They are currently in language training and will be in the field next year. Eric and Zola will join the Indigenous Rural Outreach team in eastern Bolivia to share God’s faithfulness and provision with the people of rural Bolivia. Please considered supporting them in their work for Christ abroad.

Jack Smith (Uganda)

We support one of our previous pastors turned missionary who has worked for 20+ years in Uganda and desires to continue his work in this country for the remainder of his life.
